Mrs. Stralow is in her 13th year as a teacher and drill team director at Coppell High School. She is originally from Richmond, Texas and is a former member and Colonel of the Stephen F. Austin High School Angels Dance Team. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance at TCU (Go Frogs!) and continued dancing professionally with Contemporary Dance Fort Worth for several years.
Stralow came to CHS as a long-term substitute for former director Kari Korth and was hired the next year as the Silver Stars JV director and dance teacher. It wasn’t long before circumstances led her to direct both the Lariettes and Silver Stars that first year, and by the spring she was the official Lariette Drill Team Director.
Afn 2008 she married former CHS Head Wrestling Coach and Defensive Coordinator Carl Stralow. They are proud parents of their daughters, Morgan (5) and Reagan (2). Coach Stralow is the head football coach at Keller High School (Go Indians!), and Morgan is a Kindergartener in the Grapevine-Colleyville school district (Go Gators!). Reagan is a full time student at the Early Childhood Development Center in Colleyville (Go Roos!) and occasionally all four of them get to see each other at home!
Under the direction of Mrs. Stralow the Lariettes have continued a tradition of excellence throughout football and competition seasons. Some changes have also come with Mrs. Stralow at the helm like the addition of field boots to the uniform (formally Keds) and the option of a sleeveless fringe uniform with gauntlets for the 100 degree games. Additionally the Coppell Larrys have become a staple at the Homecoming Game and the Annual Lariette Show-off attracts over 500 guests each year with the addition of CHS dance classes and special performance groups. The Lariettes have always been award winning and continue that tradition with technique and showmanship awards, Best in Class awards, Winner’s Circle trophies, and national titles year after year.
Mrs. Stralow is looking forward to another great year at CHS and expects the best year ever with the Lariettes!
