Since Drupal is open source that means that the source code is available for free to anyone that desires to implement, maintain, and extend the Drupal system. This openess has allowed many users from all over the world to contribute bug fixes and new features to Drupal which anyone can download and install. Drupal is currently at version 6 with version 7 expected later this year. The many years of existing development and the dedication of the Drupal programmers means that support and new features will be available for many years to come.
